Tuberculosis

A specific disease caused by the presence of Mycobacterium tubercle bacilli;it may affect almost any tissue or organ the body;the most common seat of the disease being the lungs;the general symptoms are those of sepsis;hectic fever,sweats and emaciation.A rapidly fatal disease due to the general dissemination of tubercle bacilli in the blood,resulting in the formation of military tubercles in the various organs and tissues,and producing symptoms of profound toxaemia.
In homoeopathy the treatment of tuberculosis is based on the law of similia which consists of applying drugs which will lower the resistance to tuberculosis of the normal person,if given in crude doses for a long time.The weakness of such resistance is revealed in certain constitutional characteristics much earlier than the actual developement of the disease.The tubercular persons are badly effected by damp,humid climate,by over exertion,by loss of vital fluids and many other factors.
