Snake bite - (a) - A mango stone (part of the mango which is thrown away after eating the fruit), is a specific for it. Take 7 or 8 such stones, which had been dried, open their hard covers and take out the contents and grind the same with 5 black pepper with a little water and put it in 1/2 or 1 pao i.e. 4 or 8 oz. of water and make the patient drink it. It suffices for a cure. Desi mango grown in village is the best for the purpose. The mango stones should be dried in shade and kept. Mixture of CP 3x , KP 3x and NM 3x should also be given repeatedly and solution thereof in cold water should be poured over his whole body. b) - Take 1/2 chatak of soft, new plaintain (Kela) leaves which are whitish. 1/2 tola alum (Phitkari) and 3 black pepper (kali mirch). Grind them with 4 oz. I.e. half a pao of water, give mixture to the patient or drink, if unconscious, introduce the same through mouth, nose and ears. At the same time pour cold water on top of head continuously and give CP 3x, KP 3x and NM 3x, mixed in water or dry on tongue repeadly and solution thereof in cold water should be poured over his whole body. c) A similer and equally efficacious remedy is to chop off horizentally 6" thick piece the trunk of plantain (Kela ) tree and extract its juice by crushing it and give one ounce, i.e. half chatak every 15 minutes; cold water should be poured on top of head continuously and the aforesaid mixture of CP 3x, KP 3x, NM 3x should also be given and solution thereof in cold water should be poured over his whole body. d) Take a chicken and put its anus at the part bitten. It absorbs poison and dies; then take another and use it similarly and so on; this has great reputation. It revives patient considered dead. e) Tie tightly a string or rope on the part between the part bitten and the heart to stop circulation of blood and cut the part bitten and let it bleed. f) Burn the part bitten with fire at once. g)A novel method is to give a slap to the patient or to the person who brings the news to you and put the patient under tap or pour cold water on him repeatedly till he shivers and comes to senses; then let him run for a mile or so till he perspires. h) Take two stems of peepal leaves (fresh) 1/2" in diameter. Let 6 or 7 men catch hold of the patient tightly - heads, legs, chest and head. Put the stems inside the two ears so that the end may touch the eat drums and hold the leaves tightly. Immediately patient would shout and try to get up, but do not let him do so. He will try to escape for 15-20 minutes; then he will become conscious and get cured. Then take out stems from the ears. I) During rainy season, we find that earth worm com-out of their holes and while doing so, they throw out some earth. The earth should be collected and kept in a bottle. One tola (2/5 oz.) should be taken and put in 1 pao (8 oz.) of water and shaken well and strained through a piece of cloth. The patient should drink this. It cures. J) Take earwax of the weight of urd pulse. Dissolve it in 1 chatak of water and give it to the patient to drink. |
