HEART DISEASES
The paitent should not go upstairs except on a chair. If this is not possible he should stop at each and every stop for about 5 seconds.
Patients should take as much rest as possible; they should lie down if there is alternative between lying down and sitting down and they should sit down if there is alternative between sitting and standing. Dilatation - Enlargement of the heart - CF 30x alone failing which mixture of CF 30x, FP 12x, KM 3x and KP 3x.
Pain in heart - See Angina Pectoris.
Palpitation of the heart - In health, a person does not feel beating of the heart; If however one feel that heart is beating, it means that there is Palpitation of the heart. It is generally caused by indigestion, flatulence or wind or tobacco. It may be present in patients suffering from anaemia, hysteria, amenorrhoea and is common during pregnancy. In a few cases, it may be due to disease of the heart.
Hence it is better and safer in every case to get the heart examined by a competent doctor. KP 3x alone, failing which give a mixture of CF 30, CP 3x or 12x, FP 12x, KM 3x, KS 3x, MP 3x, NM 3x, NP 3x and NS 3x. Add S 12x, if worse at night. Calc. Ars 30 one dose daily is often useful.

They should not be alarmed; for that will make worse them. They should avoid going upstairs or uphill fast; (these should be avoided even by healthy person) lifting heavy things or running or doing hard work or other things which may strain the heart. They should sleep on back or on right side. Every night about 32 Kismish (dried small grapses) pieces should be put in a tea cup containing 1/2 oz.(1/4 chatak) of gulab jal (rose water) and kept in open on a stool or table; next morning each Kishmis pieces should be pierced and lifted with a very thin pointed stick of silver about 3" long and taken and while eating each kishmish piece the patient should say to himself "I am a young man, I am not suffering from any disease. Why should I worry". This is veryuseful. Fatty foods should be avoided. Food should be cooked in Til oil or Mustard oil. If the patient is fat, he should reduce his fat by taking lot off vegetables including potatoes and fruits instead of fatty foods and wheat or other gains.

Rest is very necessary, Hurry, worry anger and rich foiod should be avoided.
Heart failure - Patient should lie down or be made to lie down at once - Mixture of CF 30x, KM 3x, S 12x, CP 3x or 12x, KP 3x and NM 3x., There is much perspiration, sinking condition, great weakness and nervousness in cases of heart failure. The above mixture should be kept by every body, for nobody knows when this may be needed. This mixture is wonderful and has saved several lives from the very jaws of death. This medicine is to be given as preventive at 9 a.m., noon, 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. daily. If attack takes place at another time then it may be taken at other times also. If this mixture fails give mixture of remain 9 medicines.
Worry and hurry should be avoided. A person from central India, hurred to catch a train, his heart failed at the railway plateform and he died then and there. In such cases it is better that the train be missed rather than run the risk of heart failure. Heart patients should not join funerals. Shocking news should not be communicated to them bluntly; they should be gradually prepared for it, e.g. if there is news that a near relation had died, it would be proper to tell the patient that the relation is ill; then after some time that he is seriously ill and sometimes thereafter that he may be informed that he had died.
Glad tidings also should not be communicated suddenly. Worry can be avoided by contentment and by always feeling that whatever happens is done by the Almighty for our good though being short sighted we cannot realise it at present. Fat people are more likely to get heart failure so that should try to reduce fat by taking more and more fruits and vegetables including potatoes and less and less wheat, rice and ther grains and fats. Going upstairs quickly often causes heart trouble, wait at each step. Heart patients should not fear that they would die any time. Heart paitents very often live long if they take precautions. It is generally seen that heart patients do not die of heart failure.
Tthe Reader's Digest gives two excellent methods for reviving patients whose hearts had ceased to beat due to drowning or any other reason.
Medical experiments have shown that one of the best first aid measures to revive a person whose breathing has been stopped by drowning, electrical shock, smoke or gas inhalation, or some similiarly incapacitating accident or illness is to blow your breath into his lungs, mouth to mouth.
Rescue breathing has an extra life saving advantage. Doctors have long recognized the danger that an insensible patient may "swallow his togue"- and suffocate. In an unconscious person, thorat reflexes disappear and the tongue may sag against the back of the throat, blocking the victim's natural air passage.
Before beginning inflation, remove any foreign matter present in victim's mouth and throat by turning head to side and wiping out mouth with fingers or cloth.
Mouth to mouth method in adults:-
Insert thumb of your left hand between victim's teeth hold the jaw upwards so that the head is tilted backwards. Close victim's nostrils with your right hand. Take a deep breath and place your mouth tightly over victim's mouth and your own thumb. Blow forcefully enough to make victim's chest rise. Repeat inflations every three or four seconds.
Mouth to mouth method in children:-
Using both hands, grasp the angles of the child's jaw at the ear lobes and lift up forcibly so that the head is tilted backwards. Push child's lower lip towards the chin with your thumbs. Never let the chin sag. Take a breath and place your mouth tightly over child's mouth( for small child cover both mouth and nose). Blow in gently until his chest moves, take your mouth off and let him exhale passively. Repeat inflations about once every two or three seconds. For infants use light puffs of breath.
